Why

About this poem:
Written about the tragic events in New York 9-11-01

Dedicated to those that lost their families and friends, to those who suffered and survived, to those who died unexpectedly, and to the brave people who went and risked their own lives to save others

Why

Why did they have to do that?
Why must they make us cry?
Why did they try to destroy our country?
Why must there be hatred in the world?
Why did we have to witness it like we did?
Why must there be evil lurking in the world?

Why now?

We must not let it break us apart.
We must not accuse each other.
Instead, we must stand together.
And fight the hatred.
And show these "faceless cowards" that we are a country undivided.
We must help others that are in need.
We must pray for those who are mourning.
We must pray for our president, that he may know what to do.
We should thank those who have lost their lives, saving others.

But we still ask...why?
